You’ve been following the keto diet, and your body is finally getting used to it. But your breath is smelly, you’re getting overstuffed and you’re finding yourself not losing weight. What’s going on?
The keto diet is a low carb, high protein, and very low calorie way of eating that has been touted as a natural, simple, and effective way of losing weight and staying healthy. But what about cramps, headaches, and bad breath? While the keto diet is a powerful tool for rapid weight loss, people can have trouble sticking to it, especially if they’re doing it for the first time.

What is the best way to calculate and track macros?
It was hard for me. Honestly, I believe in a life without macros. I mean, it is possible to be successful on a keto diet without using a calculator. Usually, weight loss on keto can also be assessed in other ways, such as. B. by wearing looser clothing or using keto straps.
However, if you are struggling to reach your goals, get into ketosis and/or balance your intake, 75/15/10 is a good option to start with:
– 75% of total calories from fat
– 15% of total calories from protein
– 10% of total calories from carbohydrates (preferably non-starchy vegetables)

Why does my breath smell so bad?
Acetone is one of three types of ketones that the body makes when it eats fat. This particular ketone is excreted through respiration and usually has a slightly sweet or nail polish-like odor.
In cases of dehydration (or dry mouth), the bacteria in the mouth combine with acetone to form a not very pleasant odour and is known as dragon’s breath. Over time, the more a person adjusts to the keto lifestyle – along with proper hydration and oral hygiene – the more bad breath will disappear.

I lost weight, but it took about 3 months. Suggestions?
Ew! Stagnant weight loss can be very frustrating, especially when you’re sure you’re doing everything right and following your keto diet to the letter! There are several reasons why weight loss can be impaired. Some of the great ones I see often:
2) Carbohydrates creep in – too many hidden or unaccounted for carbohydrates in the diet
3) Protein excess
4) Fats need to be scaled back slightly.
Also, intermittent fasting is a great way to overcome stagnation, and three months of keto is the perfect time to introduce it.
